Support Transitions

The transitions that managers and leaders go through are often the time of most challenge, and when the organisation is more likely to lose key talent.

Transitions include a promotion to a more senior role, a shift to a new division, cultures combining through a merger or acquisition, or a posting to an overseas position. In each case there are extra challenges involved, and new habits to learn.

Coaching can fast track transition from uncertainty and low productivity, to full effectiveness.

We recommend the use of internal coaches in most instances, except for CEO or C-suite transitions where an external coach may be more suitable. We recommend internal coaches because:

  •  They have most likely experienced similar transitions themselves and, as a result, will have credibility
  • They provide a useful long term resource for executives
  • This provides development opportunities for more senior staff
  • This provides coaching in a highly cost efficient way

The internal coaches can be people from within hr, or line managers, or a combination. The coaches are usually volunteers, who undergo training and are provided with a clear coaching system to execute with their clients.
