Improve Onboarding

A new hire is a significant investment. There are recruitment and training costs, as well as the time and focus required to get the new hire up to speed.

Research is showing it takes 6-9 months for a new hire to reach full productivity, yet an average of 35% of new hires are lost within 2 years.

Coaching can address both issues: speeding up the time it takes to get to full productivity, and reducing the turnover of new people. Our recommendation is to develop a team of internal coaches. Internal coaches:

  • Know the culture and how things work
  • Increase the connections between people across the organisation
  • Provide development opportunities for more senior staff
  • Provide coaching in a highly cost efficient way

While external coaches may also fulfill these functions, we find internal coaches can do so for around 10% of the cost, and provide excellent leadership development to executives.

We have found these initiatives to be highly effective long term interventions with clients in professional services, government departments, and any organisation that wants to increase investment in their talent, early in the cycle.
